Photoshop Class and Workshop

Columbia, South Carolina, December 6, 2008

Back by popular demand, I am conducting another one-day class and workshop, teaching and demonstrating my digital workflow and Photoshop techniques. We will spend an hour or two shooting some local scenes in the morning before going indoors and evaluating and processing the results for the remainder of the day. Topics scheduled to be covered include (but are not limited to):

1) Understanding Histograms - the most powerful tool for getting a proper exposure with your digital camera. Using your camera's histogram correctly also results in images with fuller, richer colors, smoother tonal transitions, and reduced digital noise.

2) The RAW capture. How to use the RAW capture to get the most out of your digital camera.

3) White Balance and Color Correction.

4) Levels and Curves - the two most powerful image-editing tools.

5) Layers and Layer Masks. How to impart your own personal vision to the image.

6) Image Sharpening. When and how do you properly sharpen your image?

7) Preparing your images for print and the web.

8) Establishing a color-managed workflow.

Plus, any questions or problems you might bring to the class or encounter along the way.

Bring your laptop (optional) or take plenty of notes. There will be hand-outs, for those who do not take notes very well! We will have laptop, digital projector to demonstrate all of the techniques live, and large viewing screen.

The event will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and the cost is $125 per person. Feel free to Contact Me for specific questions about the subject matter to be covered, but questions about the event logistics and all registration inquiries will be handled by Teresa Spires. You can Email Teresa or call her at 803-518-7895 to register.

Hope to see you there!

Richard
